Hey Dad . . . let HIM pick it out ! What works for him? Too many decent ones out there. My wife looked at 25 different models, shot 12 of them, and settled on her own decision to "1". ( Sig P238 ) Same with my Son, looked at 15, shot 6, bought "1" ( i paid for it also birthday ) ( G43 ) + accessories + add-ons Good luck !
I would seriously go with the H&K Jeffrey. I agree that you should involve your son in the selection process. This will go a long way in increasing his confidence and also knowing that dad trusts him to be a very vital part of "His" carry pistol. P.S. He's a "Big BoY" now and definitely "Pun" intended! Take him to a local range that has rentals and let him play with the different guns he will know what he wants when he shoots/handles it
