Taurus guns can not match the quality of the Rugers while Taurus does make some good guns the also have a history of short lived models that have no support (after its discontinued) including the availability of magazines
Go with the LCP 2. I've had hands-on time with both, and the Taurus seemed too squirrelly. On top if that, you're absolutely right about the feed issues
LCP 2 would be the way to go Richard. The Spectrum will need some more "Ripening" time to clear out the reported teething issues.
For what it is, it is good. Roger is expensive and this will do the same, especially from small guns. Almost everyone will say Ruger because of the name. If you've been wanting this gun then just go for it. That's the best way to find out rather then buying something else and wonder about the Taurus. I don't have Taurus semi autos but I have 3 revolvers and all work great.
I'd advise finding a range to try these out at and make up your on mind on which one fits you best. All my Taurus guns are proven winners. You couldn't give me an LCP 2 for the fact they have a funky trigger with a very long pull before they hit the the wall and snap the firing pin
