David, I have ordered several firearms and have always had to get the serial number at pickup at my FFL. You can ask Buds Customer Service if this is something they can provide you after purchase at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner.
