I have recently bought the XDE 9mm 3.3 pistol and enjoyed shooting it so much that I decided to replace my Smith and Wesson bodyguard with the Springfield 911 380.
I usually carry my pistol appendage carry on my right side and like the ability to have a round in the chamber decocked and safety on with the XDE model.
I wanted to know if this was possible with the 911 380? Does the firing pin disengage when the safety is on, and the hammer is down? If I am uncomfortable with the hammer cocked and lock should I just carry without a round and rack the slide if needed?

I have lots of training and we never appendix carried or carried in a shoulder holster because you never want to point a loaded gun at something you do not want to lose. When you appendix carry you are pointing the gun at your appendage so I guess the term you used is applicable. LOL
