the M&P 15 OR has slightly upgraded  parts the M&P 15 sport II is the entry level AR-15 The sport II is still a great gun and I love mine It is all the AR I need

The M&P 15 OR is the superior of the two due to better trigger, internal components and M4 profile barrel. In short it is a grade up on it's little brother the M&P Sport 2 OR which is a basic AR throughout.
