Will an XDm 4.5" 45 pistol work in Kydex holsters designed for the XDm 4.5" 9/40 version of the pistol. I cannot find any holsters that are specifically designed for the 45acp version and after reading what I could find they say that this version is wider that the 9/40.

No, the XDM .45 will not work in holsters for XDM 9/40. The .45 slide is slightly wider and and a few other measurements will differ.
You can try different manufacturers websites to locate a holster that fits and then come back to Bud's for a better price if they offer that brand.
