Want to get my son the PWS T3 Summit .22LR rifle for my son for Christmas. He is going on 13, but we want him to be able to use this for hunting as well. Joshua, the PWS T3 Summit .22LR rifle will be just fine. This will let your son develop good shooting basics first due to negligible recoil. These fundamentals should be developed first before introducing him to a center fire rifle. For rodents, small game and plinking, the 22LR has been the go to for introducing young children for many, many, many years.
