Yes, the compact rifle weighs around 9 pounds. If you use this gun for hunting it's going to get heavy real fast. Trust me, I am an animal trapper and one of my rifles weighs 9 pounds...making it a pain to carry around! But the 9-pound rifle weight will only matter if you are carrying it for a long distance. Also, remember that a heavier rifle will be easier to aim, and will absorb recoil much better.
