It will kill smaller deer out to 50 yards with Federal 147 grain Hydrashoks and very careful shot placement but it is surely no big game rifle. Sighted at 50 yards it should be 4 to 6 inches low at 100 and okay on varmints or small game.
Larry, the maximum effective range for the 9mm in a 16" barrel would be approximately 125yds maximum. The 9mm picks up a good bit of steam out of the longer barrel. This is of course with the right ammunition. I would look at Underwood for stout 9mm loadings : https://www.underwoodammo.com/collections/handgun-ammo/cartridge_9mm-luger
do not hunt deer with a 9mm
Yes, yeeees, hunt deer with it lol. I dont think it will be effective at 100 yards, 50 maybe, but 100 is too far. Just remember that a 9mm is not a rifle round, so thus you will not get the same distances.
designed for close quarter varmints.....good for 25 yard varmint/combat
