I have an Axis II in .223 that I'm quite impressed with. I'd spend a few bucks more on the Axis II personally. You get the "Accu-trigger" which is a really nice feature.

It is a very good Budget gun. The fit and finish is not as good as higher level guns

The Axis is an entry level 308 rifle Talbert, which is evidenced by the price point. It will get the job done but expect average performance and lower quality fit and finish. There are definitely better options for not a whole lot more money and will get you excellent fit and finish and most importantly, much better accuracy due to better barrels.
