Dennis, The main difference is the scout model #14045 has a medium contour barrel while this model has the barrel with the standard M4 cut in it to reduce weight and are usually less cost
the M4 is the basic entry level AR15 the 14045 has some upgraded parts including a different barrel ( medium contour barrel )
Dennis, the only difference is the above rifle has a 16" 4150 CMV Chrome Moly M4 Profile Chrome Lined Barrel while the Model #14045 has a 16" Government-profile barrel with Nitride finish. The cost difference is simply due to more of the above model being in stock than the Model #14045. Buds prices are tied to stock level and if you pay attention to any Buds firearm stock levels, you can save lots of $.
