It will also be fine against bare skin

you can grip it without droping

The grip surface is kind of a "pebble" finish … not sharp at all. I have three. If you really want to improve it you can add the TALON grip cover that offers a softer thin "rubbery" feel that is really nice, cost about $20. and takes only seconds to install. I use them on all my 320s as do my shooting buddies. We love 320s.
