xueqiang l, The effective range depends on ammo used and what the target or game is. A shooter could harvest a varmint at up to 180-200 yards with an accurate shot. A 22lr round will travel several thousand yards if not impeded in flight. I would not take a 22lr shot out of any firearm over 100 yards.
Xueqiang, the max effective range will depend on the ammunition, shooter skill and conditions. For target shooting, 250 yards max and for small game 150 yards max. For further distances, I would seek a more powerful cartridge.
1st what do you mean by effective range. the many different types of 22lr ammo will make a big difference (standard velocity - hyper velocity) shooting paper 200+ yards for any animal I would limit it to 100 yards if its me shooting make that 50 yards
