the steel version will be most durable for hot/heavy loads I will say a quality alloy gun can outlast a poor steel gun. in real life I doubt you will see much difference for carry I would go alloy for a pure range gun steel

John, EAA has tested the Alloy pistol to handle the same PSI/Proof Loads as the Blued version so no worries. I own the Blued version and it is built like a tank.
