Adam, this a fairly easy conversion. The breech face of a 9mm and .38 Super are close enough to work without modification. You may have to play with extractor tension to ensure reliable feeding but probably not for extraction. s the frame of the 1911 cut for a ramped barrel? If so, the 9mm barrel needs to have the same frame cut. Barrel and 9mm magazine should be it.
Call RIA to see if you can just substitute a barrel. The 38 Super magazines will work with the 9mm.
