Pete, these are sufficient for concealed carry however, there are better performing rounds available of course.
If you are going to carry it's best to use what the local police use to defend themselves. Looks better in court if you ever have to go. Most P.D.'s use Federal Hydrashoks or Winchester Personal Protection.
Remington makes good ammo, but I would suggest that you buy several different brands and bullet weights and spend some range time finding "the one" that performs the best in your gun. Not all ammo or guns are created equal. Auto loaders often have a preference for one over the other. And for self defense you want to want to know you have the best for your gun.
as long as you try enough to be sure your gun will function reliably (should test your gun with ALL carry ammo) with them the yes they are a good self defense round
