If I wanted to shoot 9mm out of this, would I only have to buy the conversion barrel? Or would I have to change the barrel and something else to avoid malfunctions?

Wilfredo, just the conversion barrel and a 9mm magazine for feed reliability Sir.

Many of the Glocks will work fine with just the barrel swap. Others you may have to get a 9mm magazine and an ejector ($8 from Glock).

Often times you will just need the conversion barrel and a magazine.  In fact I have been successful doing just that. 
You could add the ejector but I would only do so if the previous set up is troublesome.  Personally I would not carry any firearm  for defense of life with a conversion barrel set up unless it's been proven to get through 250 (my arbitrary number) rounds of the self defense ammo of your choosing.  Obviously opinions may vary.
