This item comes with many included features, but will need to purchase additional pistons to use with semi-automatic or select fire handguns. make sure your FFL has a class III license to process the transfer and complete all your NFA paperwork.

David F, as a resident of Iowa myself the only thing you need is to find a dealer in Iowa that has a class 3 dealers license. You will need two fingerprint cards done by your local law enforcement and two passport photos. The dealer receiving the NFA item will probably have a fee, in my case it was 50 dollars since I did not purchase from him directly. He will fill out and submit the forms to the ATF along with the 200 dollar tax stamp. But to answer your question directly, you do not need any special permit. If you are able to own firearms you should have no issue obtaining a class 3 item. Except for a machine gun, Iowa does not allow Form 4 transfers to residents of the state.
