Jennifer, This firearm will function with +P ammo. Would not shoot a steady diet of it at the range. If not using this specific firearm for carry or personnel defense why bother? Not the most expensive barrel option on this firearm. Plenty of $300 9mm's out there that handle +P ammo no problem.
