If I order this from Buds how long does it take to get? Can you pay in advance while waiting? Colt said 1 to 2 years? Does Buds get them in quicker and can you preorder?

Buds does not do pre-orders so you cant get it from buds I would just go with ordering from colt if you really want a "colt"  but if you want a "shooter" I would just buy Ruger or one of the colt clones

James, unfortunately Buds does not have a "Pre-Order" on this particular Pistol. You can certainly contact Buds Customer Service directly for specific details on possible availability at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 11am - 7pm Sun (7 days a week).

If Colt is telling you 1 - 2 years, then that's a pretty good indication of how long it would take to get to Buds as well.  I can;t imagine ti taking that long though.  Call Buds and ask, and use the 'notify me' option. Not a lot else one can do, unles you happen to find one at an online auction site.  Good luck.
