Paul, it compares favorably and the pistol grip affords you slightly better shot control as it forces a more linear wrist angle which some say helps with recoil and point-ability.

In my opinion it would be more comfortable than your standard stock because of the pistol grip since it allows for more of a natural hold which for me seems to resemble an AR style grip so if you own an AR it may give you some similarity in that regard. Good luck!

Actually it just comes down to personal preference. The pistol grip does afford a somewhat steadier grip, and adds a bit of ability to control recoil. Conversly, it could be a bit of a hindrance when carrying the gun if hunting.
