If you're used to carrying a large concealed pistol this is a good one. If not, keep in mind the bigger and heavier a gun is the more likely it is to be left at home. Also, the grips on these will rub you raw in short order against bare skin. The shield M&P 40 non 2.0 is only 8 shot but is easy to carry inside the waistband and seldom painful when going about your routine. Recoil however with the smaller arm is heavy. So, the answer to your question is it depends.
