Richard - this, like all Rock Islands of which I am aware, is a Series 70 pistol. I think you will like the Rock Island 1911s. they are probably one of the best values - dollar for dollar - of any of the mass produced 1911s on the market - and lend themselves well to further individualized 'customizing' if you decide to do that later on down the line.
