Marcel - Recoil is one of those things that, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. This rifle weighs in at just around 8 pounds. I would have to guess it will be a bit lighter than a 12 gauge (depending on the ammunition you are using in the 12 gauge, and the size of the bullet you are shooting in this rifle). I personally don't find .308 recoil to be 'severe', but some do. It will definitely be noticeably more substantial than your 7.62X39. If you want a .308, and recoil is a consideration, I would recommend you look at something in the AR-10 line of rifles. Their design is such that the recoil is noticeably less than a rifle with no buffer system to help absorb some of the recoil.

Mercel. this rifle has a " Roller Delayed Blowback" Mechanism that will give you less recoil than a standard 12Ga shotgun.

pure recoil will be less but how it feels to you is a function of "fit" if the gun fits good it will have less felt recoil. Also shooting off a bench (seated) you will notice more recoil than standing

I'd say it would be fairly similar to a 12 guage (maybe even a little less) with lighter bullet weights of 150-165 grain. If your twist allows you to shoot 180-200 grain bullets, then expect a lot more recoil. With heavy bullets, it may recoil more than a lot of 12 guage loadings aside from slugs.
