Brian, the .284, 7mm cartridges have about the same overall length as the .308 Winchester which puts it in the "Short Action" class of rifles/cartridges the same as toe .308. You would definitely need a "Short Action" Bolt such as : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/2381/remington+action+700+sa+carbon+308
If the idea was to use a longer action so you could seat the long 7mm bullet out as far as possible this will work but you may end up with feeding issues as the magazine was designed for a longer cartridge.
