Kyle - you can ... but it isn't really recommended and you might not get as much accuracy from 5.56 as from .2223. .223 in a 5.56 is fine. 5.56 in a 223 Wylde is OK. 5.56 i a 223, while it is often done, isn't really recommended and if you were to have a problem with the gun, Remington would likely not stand behind it if you were shooting 5.56. Some folks will tell you go ahead, no problem. But it isn't their gun.

Kyle, It most likely will have nary an issue but, due to safety and warranty reasons. it is not recommended to fire 5.56NATO rounds through the rifle. The bolt action is actually sturdier than a semi-auto but, I would not chance it. I would ask Remington since they maintain your warranty know their firearms intimately at TEL: 1-800-243-9700

you should not because is not chambered and rated for the 5.56 however being a bolt rifle it should be strong enough my recommendation is do not take the chance be safe and ONLY shoot .223 ammo
