4-1/2 lbs. Recoil is not bad because it is a heavy gun I would put it around the recoil of my Blackhawk .357

James, with the weight of this gun, 4 1/2 lb, and the smaller bullet size you'll be shooting with a .223 (55 gr) this should be a fairly smooth shooting revolver. Even though the 223 is fast, the fact the bullet itself is so small - not even 50% larger than a 40 grain 22 LR bullet, this gun shold be 'tame' compared to many others.
