Gavin, this is a "Drop In" all day long Sir.

While it is considered a drop in part it's always a good idea to check head space anytime you change the barrel or bolt.

Gavin - this is one of the better quality Bolt carrier groups on the market and as long as you are installing it in a mil spec type upper, you can just drop it in and start shooting. Congrats on selecting a quality product.
