Its not possible to get the serial# before purchase.

I say ask away the worst thing that can happen is that Buds says no. I understand Jason t's answer on a new gun where the just pull a box off the shelf but I think that on a used gun the may give it to you. I would call and ask !!!!!!!!!

I do believe that there is some sort of regulation/stipulation for online firearm sales, that allow the seller at least some form of anonymity. Which most, if not all, sites utilize this action. Because, you can do a firearm serial registration search, that will give you the names of the previous registered owners, and the firearms "police record". Although, most often times, the list is very vague and sporadic at best, because there are still states, that DO NOT require a person to register a firearm in their name...

I'd say no.
