Adam - This brace will "slide" on the buffer tube, but it is then locked in place with a set screw at the desired position. It will not 'slide in and out' and lock in place like a collapsible butt stock on an AR carbine. For that you would have to have the SBA3 brace, which does 'adjust' to five different positions on the buffer tube and locks into place without having to loosen and re-tighten the set screw. Just don't confuse the two. This is not a "five position adjustable" type pistol brace, as is the SBA3. I have both ... and I find the SBA3 is much preferable.
