Jeffrey - Something interesting on that subject, received from Colt customer service in an email: "...The "CR" prefix is what is currently used on all our LE products. There may be some LE prefix lowers in the marketplace still but all new lowers on all LE rifles are CR prefix. The only difference between an LE prefix lower and a CR prefix lower is the serial number range..." Seems the old LE/Cr myth ... was just that, according to Colt. The "CR" is simply a new line of standardized serial numbers they have started using. Can I say that is `100% true? No, I can't, but that;'s Colt's story, and I imagine they're sticking to it.
