Ghris, I tell you what it is you figure the difference. Polycoat: Application of a bituminous, thixotropic cold asphalt, (water soluble) synthetic resin that creates a waterproof protective film resistant to atmospheric agents. Nitride: A heat treating process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of the metal to create a strong case hardened surface. The nitride goes into the metal. Polycoat is a durable resin on the metal.
