Michael - this Shield comes with two magazines. the 7 round magazine fits flush with the bottom of the grip. the 8 round magazine has a 'sleeve' on the bottom, which acts as a 'grip extension', and extends the length of the grip by 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch. It provides a little 'pinky room' when using the 8 round magazine. Just purchase 8 round magazines as your spares, and you'll always have mags with the extended 'sleeve'. .

Michael, yes. This pistol comes with a "Flush Fit" 7rd Magazine and an 8rd Magazine with "Grip Extension".
