You can use any standard AR-15 rifle caliber upper on this lower - You will need a different bolt carrier group for some calibers, and they usually come with the uppers in the 'non-223/5.56" caliber uppers. With a bolt and barrel, you could build a 6.5 Grendel on this lower, for example, or a 300 Blackout.
