If I purchase one of the CPO Sig P229's, do I get to inspect it at the gun store before I am committed to buying it?  I mean, can I reject it based on condition? and return it?

Yes, you can inspect any gun purchased on Budsgunshop.com at your local FFL and decline to accept the gun regardless of whether it is CPO, new or used.  Buds will take the gun back without any restock fees as long as you do not accept transfer from the FFL.
