The Gen 4 Glocks feature a different finish from their predecessors. I certainly is not cerakote or any other spray/brysh on topical finish, but is a chemical process that transforms the surface of the metal - as did the famous (infamous?) tenifer finish Glock was known for in the earlier generations. Glock is very secretive about their finishes - in fact about pretty much everything associated with the production of "Glock Perfection) and aren't talking about exactly what the newer finish is, but lots of folks have noticed what it isn't, and it sure isn't the original 'tenifer' ... which I understand always had to be done in Austria as it ws illegal here in the US as it involved cyanide. So while we don;t know exactly what it is, we do know for certain it is not cerakote, or duracoat or any "coat". William, Glock says this pistol has a Advanced barrel/slide surface treatment for max scratch & corrosion resistance (OD Green Battleworn) Finish. This I believe is similar to NIB.
