Joel, the model above is the California approved model. Cali normally requires features such as Loaded Chamber Indicators "LCI's" an magazine disconnect safety's.
Joel - The 1911 you linked (PX9109LCA) has been approved by the state of California for sales in California. PX9109L has not - This probably resulted from Springfield making some slight change to the originally CA approved model ... and rather than knock it off the CA list, and get the 'updated' version approved again by CA, just continued to produce it under the PX9109LCA designation. The laws in CA make for some crazy maneuvering by the firearm manufacturers to try to ensure Californians have access to firearms.
