William - Is it a good gun? It has had some issues (as have many different firearms), and at least one recall, as you probably know. It appears it has been discontinued by Taurus, as well. The fact you refer to getting a better firing pin would say to me you are aware of at least some of the issues the gun has had. Some feeding problems as well. I must admit, I am somewhat biased against Taurus since a negative incident I had with their customer service a few years back. On the bright side, i will say you are looking for one in the correct caliber! :-) I would assume it is a decent gun. I have never handled or fired one. If you have, and like ti, then I would say go ahead and pursue it. I know there are better guns, and I know there are worse guns. If you want it for strictly a range gun, then fine. A mis-feed occasionally would be no big deal If you want it to carry for defense .. I think I would look elsewhere. Bottom line- you are the only one who has to be pleased
William, the Millennium PT145 Pro is a good pistol especially considering the price point. I have a recently purchased PT145 and have not noticed any issues with light strikes or other firing pin issues in over 700 rounds. Maybe Taurus fixed this? schludershots.com/gun-parts-by-model/taurus-gun-parts/taurus-mod-pt145-pro.html
its ok but I think there are better guns at the same price point if you do get one stock up on mags as Taurus likes to leave their owners high and dry when they discontinue a gun
