Tom, some states have arbitrarily enacted laws governing the purchase of firearms which increase the age limit over the federal minimums. Some states have laws that allow a person to buy a firearm from a private individual at 18, but not from a dealer. until 21. Like many laws we have today, some don;t make much sense. Regardless, you will have to abide by the laws in your state if you want to remain legal. I don;t believe the pistol grip will have any effect on the minimum age limit in your state to purchase a shotgun. It might however not be legal in your state to sell a particular model of shotgun. The easiest way I know to get the whole scoop on the purchasing laws in your state is to consult a local FFL licensed firearms dealer. Sadly, even law enforcement personnel are not always up-to-date on the laws in their locality. A FFL dealer has to be up to date - their income depends on being legal.
