Lars - First there is no SAAMI approved 380 ammunition on the market, so using these "+P+ shells would void the warranty on your gun. So, any ammo marketed as 380+P is either simply named that for marketing purposes, or is loaded above the SAAMI approved loads for 380. Then, here's what Ruger had to say when a customer inquired about the safety of using 380 +P in an LCP: "The Ruger LCP was not designed for use with +P ammunition. Given the LCP's lightweight and compact design, the use of +P ammunition in this particular model may result damage to the firearm or personal injury." So, I would have to go along with Ruger, who said "No" to +P 380 ammo in LCP pistols.
Lars, it is not recommened for a constant diet of these. On occassion, yes, but don't over do it.
