Terry, Both great firearms. My personal opinion is model 5802 with the Stainless Steel. Even though it come with 4 round magazine. Ruger makes a great 25 round magazine that you would probably add to either model. The bluing is sure pretty on model 5816 and comes with 20 round magazine.
