Lebron - the frame is made of stainless steel, then nickle plated. The 'black synthetic' refers to the grips/grip material.  This pistol has what is widely recognized as the best 'out-of-the-box' trigger of any .22 pistol made.

Nickel plated steel frame with a Alloy slide the S stands for sport and no one lese including the Walther site mention "black synthetic" which could be referring to the black plastic grips
