Yuri, it is formulated on the inside fouling caused by the bullet and not for the exterior finish. The bore is the "High" wear area. It is very strong and M-Pro does not want to pay for any damaged finishes I would assume. The oil itself can be used for exterior lubrication.
you can use the CLP portion anywhere on the gun but I would use the Gun cleaning fluid only in the bore as it is made to remove coper fouling and is a strong cleaner that may damage polymers guns or the finish on metal guns
Yuri - that means it (the cleaner) is made specifically for cleaning the bore of the barrel. It should be used according to the manufacturer's directions, as it is a powerful solvent type substance, and could harm any plastic / polymer parts, or the exterior finishes on the metal parts. The CLP (cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant) can be safely used on any pert of the firearm - interior or exterior. It will help dissolve carbon/burned powder deposits, for example, on the bolt and trigger parts. The CLP can also be used to clean and protect the exterior metal parts of the firearm. Handy little cleaning kit.
