Jeffrey, no Sir. The Remington R1 1911 has no issues with hollow point ammunition. While the barrel isn't ramped, it does have the proper bevel to the barrel throat, allowing sure feeding of JHP rounds.

The Remington R1, Jeffrey, has a non-ramped barrel - as do the majority of .45 acp 1911s. I own two - the work like a 'sewing machine' - no feeding problems with anything I have fed them.
