Michael - this lower does not come with a buffer tube. You would install whichever style/size you choose after purchase. Yes, DPMS lowers are pretty solid. I've used them in maybe 4 or 5 builds and had absolutely no problems with parts fitting as designed. I also have used Anderson several times, and they are, I think, about the best lower one can get for the money. Aero Precision also builds a good lower, as does Spikes. If you are on a budget, I would recommend the Anderson. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/80707/anderson+ar15-a3-lwfor-um+ar15-a3+stripped+lower+receiver ... If the budget is not a big concern, then Noveske: https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/103740/noveske+gen1+stripped+lower
Michael, yes Sir, you can install whatever size, Mil-Spec or Commercial Buffer tube that you want on this Partially Complete Lower Receiver.
