yes it will fit but being a ProMag it may not function (3/4 of the promags that I have bought will not work )

Ethan, yes Sir, it will lock in just fine in your Springfield xd 3 inch sub compact. It will, of course, hang down for obvious reasons.

Ethan - it will fit, but as with any ProMag product, it might not function very well. Do yourself a favor - Just use your factory mags, and load them a bit more often.
