I know last week this would not be compliant but now that the magazine capacity ban has been lifted (for now) and since this is a rimfire rifle... is it legal in California now?

Jason, no Sir. The current law pertains to the Magazine only. The firearm, with it's current features,  itself is still restricted in Cali unfortunately.

Jason - not sure if Buds is shipping this to CA or not ... I would think they would.  Especially since CA restrictions state "Rimfire caliber rifles are not considered "assault weapons" and can have features that centerfire rifles cannot".  But to be sure, give them a call  at 1-859-368-0371 (9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri)  or use the "chat now" button located at the bottom right hand portion of your screen, (9am-9pm EST 7 days a week). Things are still so 'up in the air' it will take a bit for all the dust to settle.

Jason - I see Buds has had the 10 round version of this gun in the CA compliant section all along ... so this one should now be good to go, with the magazine restrictions lifted.

I think it would be I suggest that you Contact customer service (859) 368-0371 available 9AM to 9PM CST Monday through Friday or use the blue chat now button . and also that you ask your local FFL as he would be the one doing the paperwork you could also buy the CA legal 10 round version then buy the high capacity mags to fit it and not have to worry if it is CA compliant or not
