Roderick, an officer or commander sized 1911 should fit into it just fine. My only concern would be whether the slide is long enough to prevent the gun from moving much which I suppose could be remedied by tightening up the retention strap.
Roderick, Yes this shoulder holster is large enough for any size 1911. I carry full size 1911s, Glock G20, SA 45 ACP XDM 5.25" barrel, K-Frame S&Ws. Any handgun I own will fit in it and it can be adjusted with the Velcro retention strap attachments. The belt loops are also adjusted with Velcro tabs.
