Ryan - while made in the 'old style' ... this is a modern rifle and made to withstand the commercial ammo available/chambered for it. A lot of ammunition makers pay more attention to 'marketing phrases' than actual cartridge performance, and market what is really 'ordinary' ammunition as some sort of 'revolutionary new discovery". The ammo out there now would be fine for this rifle - following of course any of the manufacturers instructions in the owner's manual pertaining to ammunition.
