No Shannon, given just a bit of care (light coat of oil on the exterior metal parts and inside the bore) this pistol should never corrode from being left in a vehicle. If you have rad about the XD models having corrosion problems, look at the dates of those comments. The newer XDs with the melonite finish on the slide have proven to be very rust / corrosion resistant.
